Backcountry.com Comment System

For this project, I built a from-scratch commenting system for blog articles posted on Backcountry.com. Known as the Explore section of the site, these blog articles bring in lots of organic traffic, and we wanted to let users create a conversation around the topic at hand.

We wanted to keep the comment data in-house to better leverage the login system already used by our customers. This would also have some additional benefits like the ability to follow comment authors and link directly to their profiles.

Technologies used include the Oracle ATG e-commerce platform, Java Server Pages, Backbone.js, jQuery, Sass/Compass, and Selenium for testing.
